It goes without saying that cats have some pretty cool markings. Tabbies are known for their awesome stripes, and calicos are known for those cool patches of tri-colored fur. But, when it comes to the fanciest cats of all, well, that award has to go to tuxedo cats!
For one kitten out of the UK, his super cool tuxedo cat markings make him look like the perfect gentleman—and swashbuckler. This purrfect little gent is turning heads thanks to his mustache and goatee, and it’s easy to see why.
Everyone, meet Monsieur Nigel!
I caught up with Monsieur Nigel’s owner and asked him if I could share his unique tuxedo kitten with all of the Cattitude Daily readers. Thankfully he agreed, so keep reading to learn all about this fancy feline.
1. How did Nigel come into your life?
I got little Nigel at 8-9 weeks of age on Gumtree. He stood out to me instantly, and I was HUGELY surprised to find out he was the last of his litter to get chosen.
2. What is his personality like?
Very bubbly personality, VERY energetic, but also loves to chill and curl up on my lap or chest whilst watching a movie. His appetite is RIDICULOUS! He eats a whole sachet of wet food and then is hunting for more , so I give him a few treats to sort his craving.
3. What are his favorite hobbies?
His fave hobbies are going out for walks in his very own kitty backpack as seen on his Instagram/images. I’ve just recently got him a zebra print harness and lead so that he can have a little explore outside in our front garden. He looks adorable in it! When I get his backpack out, he LITERALLY runs into it begging to go for walkies, which is highly amusing. He also love sleeping and jumping around in his Kitty Love Island Villa with his hideaway extension (aka his backpack).
4. How did you come up with his name, and do you have any cute nicknames for him?
We wanted to give him a human name so that he really felt part of the family. And that name just suited and stuck. My best friends group are called “The Nigel’s” (which is too long a story to explain) so it was also very fitting.
5. Does Nigel have any cat or dog housemates at home?
He doesn’t have any brothers or sisters at home, however, he has come face to face (through the window) with a neighbour cat who looks three times his size. So, I’m glad he’s a house cat! I live in Dalston and have seen SO MANY missing cat adverts around and covering the local vet window, so he will remain a house cat and experience the outdoors in his backpack. We’ve gifted him with plenty of expensive toys over the past 5-6 months, however, his absolute favourite… is an Amazon Prime cardboard box.
6. What’s something special you’d like people to know about Nigel?
Nigel is a 6 month old kitten with a very distinct moustache and goatee. He has been compared to celebrities such as Johnny Depp, Borat, Freddie Mercury, David Seaman… just anyone with a moustache really!
