Street Kitten On The Brink Of Death Cries For Help, And Thankfully Her Prayers Are Answered

When you are a kitten born on the streets, your chance of survival is often slim. A kitten needs warmth, care, and security, and the city streets are no place for that. For one little kitten living on the city streets in the Philippines, she caught the eye of a kindhearted woman who happened to see her and knew immediately she had to do something to save her life. Quickly, she scooped her up, took her home, and that’s when the real work began.

I learned about Luna’s wonderful transformation after seeing her photos in my Tuxedo Cat Lovers group on Facebook, and reached out to her owner with some questions. Keep reading to learn all about Luna, a kitten on the brink of death that’s now thriving with a family that adores her.

Can you please tell me the story of Luna come into your life?

On the afternoon of August 12, 2020 here in Philippines, it was a normal day for me. Even though it was raining and cold, I walked down the street so that I could buy some food for my kids. It was then that I heard this little kitten crying out for help. Being an animal lover, I knew I needed to find out where this noise was coming from and fast. On that day, I saw Luna underneath a street light post. She was shivering, soaking wet, and covered in dirt. My heart broke seeing her this way.

So, I decided to pick her up and take her home with me. I wanted to clean her up and get her some food. My son is also a pet lover, so he was very happy when I came home with Luna in my arms. I gave her the name Luna because of her color.

Quickly, I noticed that she had an eye infection and a fever, likely from the rain and being out alone in the cold.

I worried about her condition, since I do not have the money right now to take her to the vet. So, I did what I could on my own to nurse her back to health. I wanted to see her survive so I did what I could.

I cleaned Luna every night and day so that her eyes would get better, and I tried home remedies that I found on Google search. Her personality started to show as she recovered, and she is such a sweet and affectionate kitty. Twice a month Luna gets her bath so that her fur is very clean, and to be sure that she has no fleas or other insects.

Now, she gets a chance to be a real kitten that is very healthy and adorable and playful.

What is her personalities like?

Luna loves to play with my kids, and wherever I’ll go she always follows me. Even when I am sleeping, she likes to sleep up by my head. But it doesn’t bother me at all because I love her so much. She has become my best friend. Luna gives me so much happiness and I love all the little things she does. She is so silly and funny and always knows how to cheer me up.

Does Luna have any cat housemates?

I’d like to give a special “thank you” to Luna’s owner for opening her heart and home to this poor little kitten in need, and for allowing me to share her uplifting story with all of the Cattitude Daily readers. One thing is certain, the world could use more people like her to take chances on street cats with no hope in sight. If you know someone who loves happy endings, don’t forget to share Luna’s story with them.
