Shy Toothless Rescue Kitty Learns To Trust And Feel Love

When we rescue a kitty, we don’t always learn all the details about their back story. We imagine that they’ve been through tough times, and we hope that in adopting them, they know they will always be loved and never have to worry about being homeless again.

For one beautiful and purrfectly photogenic kitty named Luna, she had to learn that not all people are bad. Sometimes, cats just need someone to understand them, and most of all, take a chance on them. Luna’s story of love and survival just goes to show you that there are still good people in this world who are willing to practice patience and earn a cat’s trust. And, given the fact that Luna is the queen of the cutest cat bleps you’ve ever seen, you can see that she’s happy, comfortable, and appreciative for that chance her loving cat mom took on her.

Can you please tell me the story of how Luna came into your life?

Luna was rescued 4 years ago when she was one with her mum sunny (who was sadly lost to an Illness) she had a really rough start in life and was very scared of people. The first time I met her she wouldn’t come out and scratched my hand to pieces. I knew then and there how much she needed a loving home and signed the adoption papers that day.

How did you come up with her cute name?

I have always loved the name Luna and all things moon-related. the name just suited her although it’s rare she gets called it as nicknames take preference (mush, luna the tuna, and fish are the top ones 😹)

What is her personality like?

Luna is so incredibly shy, she hides up the second she senses a stranger in the house or the doorbell go but other than that she loves having a cuddle. She has so many weird and playful quirks. She is also my shadow and follows me everywhere around the house. I would be lost without her.

What are her favorite hobbies?

Even with all the cat toys she has, nothing beats playing with either a stick, a piece of string, a spoon, or a door. She loves sitting at the window cackling at birds (although she can’t jump) she also loves sitting and watching tv and sits in full loaf position with her tongue out staring straight at it in the evenings.

Does she have any dog or cat housemates at home?

She doesn’t. She used to have her mum but she much prefers being on her own and getting all of the attention.

What’s something special you’d like for people to know about Luna?

Luna has her tongue out 90% of the time and you know it’s when she’s most comfortable. She doesn’t have any teeth due to a virus but she was blepping even before then! Luna is also incredibly small and is almost kitten like in size (for a 5 year old).

I’d like to give a special “thank you” to Luna’s loving human, Lucy, for allowing me to share her heartwarming story and images with all of the Cattitude Daily readers. Stories like hers just go to show you the real difference rescuing a cat can make—both for the cat and the human that will love them for the rest of their nine lives.
