An adorable ginger kitten is safe and sound after what could have turned into a tragic accident. The weeks-old baby somehow found himself in the middle of a busy road as cars zoomed by on either side. Thankfully, two compassionate people spotted the little bundle of fur and made the rescue.

The incident took place in Bons, Belgium where a motorcyclist known as Reazenn on YouTube and Quentin Leroy on Instagram was casually riding down the road.

The rider happened to have a camera attached to his helmet, and he recorded everything that happened next.

In the video, we can see the motorcycle cruising down the double-lane road. If you pay attention, you’ll see the bike pass a small object in the middle of the pavement. The bike veers to miss it, but at first glance, it could have been mistaken for trash or other random road debris. Thankfully, the motorcyclist knew better, and he quickly pulls to the side of the road and parks his bike.

As he rushes back down the road, he meets another man who had also pulled over. Both men knew it wasn’t trash in the middle of the road, it was a tiny helpless kitten.

As the man in the car tries to halt oncoming traffic, the video shows the motorcyclist lean down and scoop up an adorable ginger kitten. Previously shouting about the seriousness of the situation, the man’s tone of voice instantly changes when he addresses the newly rescued cat. A Twitter user translated part of the conversation as,

“Little loulou, what are you doing here? And I cannot leave him there!”

With the kitten safe in his arms, the motorcyclist admits he’s allergic to cats and doesn’t have a bag or carrier to transport the baby on his bike.  Even still, he knows he can’t leave the kitten where he found it. Thankfully, the man from the car is just as concerned for the ginger kitten’s well-being. He agrees to take the cat and keep him safe.

After the video was posted to social media, it seems the entire Internet came out to praise the heroic actions.

From YouTube, to Facebook, and eventually Reddit, the video has since gone viral. People are commenting things like, “What real heroes look like!” and “That sweet little face says it all. ”

With the Internet’s attention directed toward his actions, the motorcyclist/YouTuber is using the opportunity to spread an important message about animal welfare.  He says,

“I’ve said it many times, but apparently I haven’t said it enough because it’s still happening. Don’t abandon your animals.”
