While I'd like to consider myself a creative person, I am certainly not an artist. I am always amazed by what some artists have the ability to create using their hands and their imagination as their guide. And, there are some artists that we see that can really blow us away. When I came across Ricky Damper's work in my Tuxedo Cat Lovers group on Facebook, I was instantly amazed by his impressive talent. With just sketching pencils, he has the power to transform pieces of paper into artwork that looks as if it's popping straight off the page.ย

How long have you been sketching animals?
"I started sketching animals when I was 11 years old."
Do you have a favorite animal to sketch?
"I love the cat family, both wild and domestic cats. I enjoy drawing them most."
Do you reference any images when you sketch? How does your creative process work?
"I reference all my artworks, but I don't copy all the things on the reference. I usually put my creative spin using the reference as just a guide."
Whatโs something special youโd like people to know about your artwork?
"In my artworks, I am more concerned about capturing the beauty of the animals that I usually draw, therefore my artworks acts as a mirror by reflecting the beauty of animals on the paper."
