Cheeky Bengal Duo Named Tala And Mara Adventure Across Scotland

Tala and Mara

While there are cats that are the quintessential scaredy cats, there are other cats out there that can even put many dogs to shame when it comes to their love of adventure. Oftentimes, these brave felines wind up to be the perfect fit for an adventure cat. And, it should come as no surprise that many adventure cats are Bengals. Bengal cats are adored for their vocal nature, love of water, and zest for adventure.

For one duo of Bengal cat sisters from other misters, they have a thing for adventure and two awesome humans who love to help them enjoy the great outdoors safely by their sides. And not only are their adventures fun to observe, but their images are simply lovely thanks to their eye-catching Bengal cat coats.

I caught up with their cat mom hoping to feature this purrfect pair of fierce felines, and thankfully, she agreed. So, everyone, get to know Tala and Mara, two gorgeous kitties who were born to shine and explore!

How did you choose their names?

Tala translates to “little palm” in Arabic (like the tree) and it also means golden, “wished for” in other languages. It was important for their names to have meaning and Tala has so many lovely translations! In keeping with short, meaningful names we chose Mara (with the charcoal silver coat) means joy in Arabic. I have Arabic family and lived in the Middle East for 2 years.

What are their favorite hobbies?

They love playing with each other! They spend a lot of time together napping and cuddling, and when they’re not doing that they’re usually eating or asking for food!

How do they get along with one another?

They’re best friends and we’re super happy about it. We put in a lot of work in the beginning when Mara joined us as a kitten. Tala took some time to adjust but we can’t imagine them ever being apart now.

Can you tell me about their adventures?

Tala has been training for adventures since we got her! We took her on her first holiday (camping on the beach in Bute) when she was around 4-5 months old. We’ve done so many cool things with her, like paddleboarding, boat trips, a road trip around Scotland and we ever went whale watching with her.

Mara is still an “adventurer in training”. She’s not as confident outside as Tala but she’s come on a long way in the short time we’ve been training her. We love seeing her confidence grow.

What’s something special you’d like for people to know about Tala and Mara?

That they love being with us – I think that’s the most special thing about them, the bond they have with us. It doesn’t matter what we do or where we go, they’re happy to be with us. From trips to Starbucks, a picnic in the park or just chilling at home, they’re always by our sides! P.S. Tala was featured in the newspaper for her adventures.
